From recording to notes in 3 steps
- Record well
Sit close to the speaker or leave your phone on the nearest desk, microphone facing them. Ask for permission to record if needed. - Transcribe
Add the audio or video of the class. On a computer, pick the “Balanced” or “Most accurate” quality if there's technical vocabulary. - Check the key terms
Click a timestamp to hear that exact moment and fix names, formulas or jargon.
Then download the TXT with timestamps: when you revise, you'll know at which minute of the recording each topic was explained.
Turning the transcript into good notes
- Don't study the raw transcript. Use it as raw material: look for definitions, examples and what the lecturer repeated (“this will be in the exam”).
- Search with Ctrl+F for syllabus concepts to jump straight to them.
- Summarise in blocks of 10–15 minutes: one paragraph per block makes a perfect outline.
- Keep the audio next to the notes: the timestamps take you back to the explanation in seconds.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a one-hour lecture take?
It depends on your device. A recent laptop is much faster than a phone, and the faster quality modes finish sooner. The first time also includes downloading the model.
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?
No. It is processed in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers or anyone else's.
Can I get subtitles for a recorded class video?
Yes: download the SRT or VTT file and load it in your video player, or burn it into the video.
